“The deep connection to colours is what connects us.” With this device, artist Kim Kluge portrays people and their colours. True colors Beuys shows Kim’s interpretation of artist Joseph Beuys. The felt used to create this work is a subject of the very topical theme ‘social warmth’.
Heaven meets earth. Joseph, a down-to-earth, subtle visionary. The delicate pink shade in the background indicates its sensitivity and ability to transcend. Pink the main color, which is worked through by earth-heavy brown and infinite expanse of light blue. The felt material is not only seen as a second skin, it underlines the warming and connecting aspect of the colors. Felt is also the most original material in human history. One of the first materials from which clothing was made. Felt creates a breeding ground for social warmth.
