René Siepmann lives and works in North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany. At the age of 14 René Siepmann bought his first canvas and colours. He wanted to paint something for his room and ended up with a few white symbols and a crow on a black background. The love of expressing by using visual art was born. René realized that his possibilities were unlimited and making art made him his own boss. During the process, he created his own signature style.
René is using acrylic paint and framed canvas for his abstract and minimalistic paintings that often portray modern topics and issues he is interested in. His signature style is mainly influenced by the ancient ways of storytelling, for example using symbols various ancient cultures did, comparable to the hieroglyphs of the Ancient Egypt.
Rene gains his inspiration from the people surrounding him, his family and friends. And also by “the events happening in this fast world” and the music he is listening to.
René’s opinion is that art is a tool for connecting people all around the world. Therefore he is convinced that friendmade®’s unique concept does not only connect the viewer with the artist, but artists with other artists which could even lead to friendships among artists. René loves sharing his work on a modern platform, which makes his art accessible for everybody, because “the work is made for everyone”.
René would like to spread his work into the world in order to motivate people to think more open-minded and show them perspectives, which they would have never thought of. “At the end of my life I would like to be a part of the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, next to Van Gogh, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol.”
